Our professional, reliable service will ensure that every aspect of your booking is covered from arrival to departure.
Thanks to our long term professional relationship with our providers, we are able to offer you extremely competitive prices for our itineraries – without cutting any corners. We support local businesses, local communities and local people - and we try to avoid mainstream tourism.
All of our transports, activities, accommodations and services hold full insurance policies, and comply with Costa Rican safety standards. Paperwork is available on request.
We can also provide bilingual tour guides to accompany you on your trip - at an additional cost. Our guides are all first aid trained and carry a first aid kit for any unforeseen event. The guides have 24 hour access to our office.
Our itineraries
We have featured itineraries, that are well established and cater for most tastes, but we are also happy to create custom itineraries for all your needs. and budget requirements
Our trips are created using different accommodations, from backpacker hostels and guesthouses, to homestays, to specialized boutique beach cabins – whatever your trip needs , we can find it!
We also use a mix of private and public transport (depending on group size) to include a real cultural experience!
To avoid any events that may cause over booking, and additional traffic (such as semana santa!), please enquire about dates - we can advise you so that your trip will be more comfortable and stress free!
Upgraded rooms are available on all tours at an additional cost. Please ask for more details.
Conservation Itineraries
Participants can join one of our conservation partner NGO´s in the field, working alongside professional biologists to collect all important data on sea turtle species.
This work is very close to our heart, and we know that the projects can only keep running with this kind of volunteer input.
Start dates are twice per week, and volunteers can stay 1, 2 or 3 weeks.
No minimum numbers apply for this trip.
Although there is no tour guide to accompany this itinerary, the project staff will be on hand 24 hours per day to make sure all volunteers are welcome, put to work, and safe!
Locations available on both Caribbean and Pacific coasts – volunteers will be placed according to turtle nesting and hatching activity.
What´s included?
All trips include a meet and greet and the airport, and transport to our hostel in San Jose. Accommodation is provided (and recommended) for the first night – sp that you can relax after your flight, and travel to your next destination stress free.
Staff will be on hand to welcome you, and to answer any questions you may have.
All transport and accommodation is included throughout the duration of the itinerary. There may be some meals not included, this will be specified in each individual itinerary.

All trips also include a final night in the hostel in San Jose and the return transport to the airport.
Cancellations
All cancellations MUST be in writing to the following e mail address: info@senderoadventures.com
According to our cancellation policy:
If the reservation is cancelled or modified:-
o Up until 30 days before the trip start date – there is no charge
o Up until 14 days before the trip start date – 50% of the invoice will be charged
o Up until 7 days before the trip start date – The full invoice will be charged
If you cancel your stay once your trip has started there will be no refund.
Refunds will only be made upon accommodation, transport and activity services not used. No refunds will be given for any volunteering projects, but the full fee for this service will be donated to the project.
In the case of Agencies, all of the mentioned refunds will take the form of a credit, valid for 30 days,
In the case of any refund, from bank accounts or PayPal, we will discount the applicable charges.
All deposits paid are non-refundable.
This policy is to avoid the unnecessary purchase of transport services, and reservations.
Sendero Adventures is an intermediary company, contracting local providers. All providers hold liability insurance policies – we hold all these on file, and they are checked for validity. For this reason, Sendero Adventures cannot be held liable for any accident or injury sustained whilst undertaking your itinerary.
